These parts of MB3 are usually set and forget but they can be quite useful to make your life easier by reviewing them now and then as you get used to the program.
Classifications
A classification is a default set of data that can be applied to a procedure.
Classifications can apply to all doctors or they can be specific to a particular doctor. The doctors assigned to them can be viewed and modified on the Doctors tab on this screen. Choose a name for a classificaiton that helps you remember what it is for : eg Dr Miller's HBF direct bill or All Drs Cosmetic.

- Default scheme : which set of items will be used (there are four : MBS, RVG (for anaesthesia not based on Medicare items), GOV (for state govt items), ALT for a set of custom items that you can configure to reflect anything your practice needs to invoice.
- Unit value (for anaesthesia relative value guide only)
- Price multiplier (if charging a percentage above Medicare Benefits Schedule).
- GST applying to all items (MB3 does not combine taxable and non-taxable items in one procedure - these must remain on different procedures).
- Apply multi procedure rules - check if they do apply to this classification.
- Default to Inpatient - check if inpatient rates to be applied (with inpatient annotation on the invoice). Can be modified line by line int he procedure so that outpatient and inpatient items can be combined on one procedure.
- Print line items - if unchecked, the line items will not show on account - just a total amount (Note - if you want to show line items but not the prices for the items individually see suppressing line item prices in the Procedure section.
